First, we would like to thank you for your trust in us to keep you, and your employee’s data safe and connected to your business during this quickly changing environment. We here at Integrated Systems are closely monitoring the news each and every day to stay as up to date as possible with the COVID-19 outbreak. To support our customers, we want to make them aware of the potential data risks that they might run into and options to help them ease any issues that may arise.

 

As more employees are making the switch to working from home, it is crucial to ensure they have all the resources they need to continue to work without interruption. Businesses must make sure they have enough virtual private network (VPN) licenses in place to allow their employees to connect SECURELY to their offices network, applications, and data. We are happy to help in the process of purchasing these licenses and installing them correctly on each employee’s computer.

 

In addition, it is sad but true, that hackers will take full advantage of these uncertain times. They will continue to send out their phishing emails and capitalize on the COVID-19 outbreak. For example, because more employees are working from home, they will be expecting more communications via email from their supervisors, HR department, and co-workers. This is something that they will capitalize on and increase their amount of email scams.

 

Be sure to take the following proactive measures:

  • Do not click links you are unsure of
  • Look closely at the domains that your emails are coming from (i.e. False emails might say they are coming from Amazon, but really the domain is Amason.com)
  • Never give sensitive information out via email
  • Report any suspicious or malicious email to your IT department immediately

 

We are also happy to offer phishing email training and support to educate your employees as best as possible.
