…A contract was subsequently awarded to Integrated Systems to design, install, and support an appropriate system at strategic points in the city on City of Hornell Housing Authority (CHHA) rental properties. Authority cameras have proven to be a valuable management tool and crime deterrent at our properties. Residents and their families have an increased sense of security at their homes and nuisance reports involving vandalism, etc. have decreased. As a smaller Housing Authority operating in an uncertain funding climate, having this shared tool with our local Police Department has also proven to be more cost effective means to maintain safety to our properties, rather than dedicating security staff or designating law enforcement units. The Elmira Housing Authority recently viewed that its organization needed to store and access data information, and email with a more cost-efficient solution that could offer better benefits rather than maintaining its present system of an in-house server.
